'The noise is relentless. I have now burned out a window fan and am working on my second one that I run constantly in my bedroom window to mask the noise. The 'sound' even comes in when all windows are closed. I have absolutely no idea what I will do when I have to close the house up soon for the fall and turn that fan off. Because of this violation of my auditory space, I have had the expense of a new window fan as well as countless hours of electrical energy to run it in my window that I can little afford. Additionally, as a musician, it is a disruption to my musical thought process at times - since I am highly auditory in nature. I don't know what will come of this, but I congratulate your efforts. Dear Mr. Kradjian,
This letter constitutes a notice of public disturbance under Chapter 315 of the City of Binghamton code. You are now aware that the Bates Troy Dry Cleaning Plant located on 151 Laurel Ave is a public nuisance, whose ventilation fans create a constant noise that is illegal under Chapters 292 and 410 of the Binghamton code.
Be advised that your concerned neighbors have created an ad hoc organization called Bates Troy Noisy Neighbor to restore peace and quiet to our community. We intend to vigorously pursue a campaign against Bates Troy Dry Cleaning until you agree to silence you ventilation system and comply with the law.
We have contacted you twice via phone to no effect. Therefore, we have decided to take our campaign public. Our website is currently ranked in the top five results in Google for the search "bates troy". From now until your fans are silenced, every customer who looks for your website will also learn of the damage you are doing to our community.
It is our sincere hope that we can come to some agreement concerning your ventilation system. If you wish to contact us, please call our lead organizer.
